So it finally happened. My date rape series was deleted because someone reported it as theft. This really bothers me as I know that I gave credit where it was due, but because people were jealous of the fact that it gained a lot of popularity, they reported it. What pisses me off the most is that the point of it was not that I wanted to use someone else's work and plagiarize it. It was conceptual in nature. I came up with the concept, I looked on the internet for photographs that I thought would fit my concept and gave credit to that person. It was an unfinished school project and I still maintain the view that since it was not used for personal gain, and it was made to help victims of date rape, that it doesn't matter where I got the photos. If stock photos had had those images, I would have used them, but the fact is that they do not. I found nothing that fit my concept except for women posed with smiles on their faces in sexual poses.

What I was looking for, I found off of a website that artists use to reference for nude drawings. I had hundreds of letters from people who felt that I helped them because they were raped by someone they knew and the CONCEPT and not the photos were what got to them. I will be redoing the piece with my drawings of the women, just because you can't take down something I have drawn. But I will still be using the same photos in the end. Otherwise, I will expect deviantart to remove EVERYTHING on here that references an existing photo that the person did not pay for/create. I hope that everyone who does any kind of collage will also be nailed.

My note to the person who reported it? Get a life and don't just report something because a lot of people had faved it. You fuck.
